Leicestershire may be landlocked but that doesn't stop deckchair lounging at the beautiful grounds of Grace Road. Spectators can walk right round the ground, and a few can even watch the cricket from their car. An intimate venue, with a capacity of 12000, Grace Road - named after the road is the second largest playing area in the world. The ground, in a residential area, was founded in 1877, when the club bought 16 acres of land, and the initial first-class match took place in 1894 against Yorkshire.
Grace road is one of the nicest grounds in the UK, Set in beautiful surroundings, a mix of quaint & unusual stands surrounded by trees and fields.
Leicestershire County Cricket Club is a unique sporting venue & offers picturesque views of the grounds from most of the function rooms, which makes for an ideal setting for meetings & business events. There are many meeting rooms at the club ranging from small rooms perfect for two people to larger conference rooms for up to 250 people.
