Derbyshire

The County Ground, otherwise known as the Racecourse Ground, is a cricket ground in Derby and has been the home of Derbyshire County Cricket Club since at least 1871.

Until 1982 the players had to use the old jockey’s quarters for changing as there were no quarters for the cricketers. Recently the grounds have been under redevelopment to benefit the players and the spectators, the grounds are now a much more pleasant place for people to watch cricket. Parts of the grounds have been sold off to hotel and leisure companies. The grandstand has also been rebuilt to accommodate a range of facilities for the media, players & spectators.
