Sussex admit Smith defeat

Sussex have revealed that they have failed in their attempts to keep Dwayne Smith at Hove because of complications with his work permit.
The West Indies all-rounder signed a three-year deal in 2008 but has been forced to go back to Barbados and will not be able to star for the Sharks next season.
"Dwayne's been a huge force for us," said Sussex's chief executive Dave Brooks. "We obviously wanted to hold onto him.
"He's the fifth-highest scorer in Twenty20 cricket anywhere in the world and he's probably the best outfielder in the world.
"It was always his intention to stay, but he's now back in Barbados and looking to get into the West Indies side."
