Surrey have allowed opening batsman Scott Newman to leave The Oval after nine years of service.
The 29-year-old left-hander played nearly 100 first-class games for the Brown Caps, but fell down the pecking order during the summer of 2009.
He eventually agreed a loan switch to Nottinghamshire, but failed to impress enough to secure a permanent deal at Trent Bridge.
Surrey's managing director of cricket, Gus Mackay, told the county's official website: "I'm pleased we were able to come to an arrangement with Scott and we wish him all the best.
"I'd also like to thank him for the runs he's contributed to numerous Surrey sides during his long stint at the club."
