Wharf pens Glamorgan deal
Glamorgan all-rounder Alex Wharf has signed a new three-year contract with the Welshmen.
The 30-year-old has endured a tough time this season, but is viewed as a major player for the county, having broken into the England one-day set-up in the last couple of years.
Glamorgan chief executive Mike Fatkin told the Western Mail: "We are delighted to have signed Alex again. He is a key player for us.
"He hasn't had a lot of luck with injury this season, but he is a talented all-rounder and we believe he has got his best years in front of him.
"He has shown significant individual progress over the last 12 months and has proved to be a useful asset."
Former Notts and Yorkshire star Wharf added: "I'm delighted that I've signed a new contract.
"My career has blossomed at Glamorgan and I've got thank people like Mike Fatkin and Matthew Maynard for bringing me to the club and having faith in me when I've been injured.
"It has not been a good season for the club, but I think the signs are there for a successful future."
