Shoaib issues apology
Tuesday Apr 29 2008 11:20
Shoaib Akhtar has apologised to the Pakistan Cricket Board's chairman Nasim Ashraf as the paceman attempts to have his five-year ban quashed.
A three-man tribunal is reviewing Shoaib's appeal against the suspension which he was handed on disciplinary grounds.
The tribunal has been adjourned until Wednesday, but Shoaib said in a statement read out by his lawyer, Abid Hasan Minto: "I would like to apologise from the bottom of my heart for any grief or embarrassment that may have been caused to the nation, particularly to the PCB chairman Dr Nasim Ashraf.
"I have resolved to alter my habits to refrain from such incidents in future and I will obey the PCB rules and regulations."
