Rain delays England-West Indies 3rd ODI
Jun 22 2012 - 12:17:35
Rain delayed the scheduled 10:15am local time (0915GMT) toss and 10:45am start in the third and final one-day international between England and the West Indies at Headingley here on Friday.
And with rain continuing to fall, and more forecast, prospects for any play at all were not encouraging.
England have an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series after wins by 114 runs, under the Duckworth/Lewis method, at Southampton last weekend and Tuesday's eight-wicket success at The Oval.
However, England were set to change a winning side after resting leading bowlers Stuart Broad, Tim Bresnan and Graeme Swann from Friday's match, with Stuart Meaker, Chris Woakes and James Tredwell called up to the squad in place of the trio.
West Indies, yet to beat England this trip after losing 2-0 in a three-Test series with a rain-affected draw, conclude their tour with a Twenty20 international against their hosts at Trent Bridge on Sunday.
England, after the West Indies depart, face Australia in a five-match one-day series starting at Lord's on June 29.
