Haddin ready for Test bow

Australia wicketkeeper Brad Haddin is relishing the chance to finally make his Test debut for the Baggy Greens.

The 30-year-old has had to act as a back-up to Adam Gilchrist for several years, but will step into the limelight in the upcoming Test series in the West Indies.

Haddin told reporters: "I'm going to play the way I have for the last ten years, it's as simple as that.

"I'm not going to change things because I'm playing Test cricket. I've just concentrated on myself, making sure I prepared the best that I can.

"I haven't felt the pressure of going into Adam's shoes, but maybe ask me a day before the Test and I might answer a bit different.

"To be perfectly honest I haven't really thought too much about that. I'm not really into comparing players from different eras.

"I first got picked for Australia seven years ago and I probably wasn't ready to play. Now I feel confident in what I do and where my game is at.

"I think having ten years' experience at first-class level, hopefully, I can take that across to Test cricket and feel confident there."
