Flintoff wins World places
England duo Andrew Flintoff and Steve Harmison have been named in the World XI Test squad that will play Australia in the ICC Super Series in October.
However, England captain Michael Vaughan, who had been named in the initial 20-man squad, has been omitted from the final 13.
Kevin Pietersen and Flintoff have been named in the one-day squad while South Africans Graeme Smith and Shaun Pollock will captain the two teams.
"There are no weak links in either of these squads. Everywhere you look there's an outstanding player whose talent enriches the game," said ICC chief executive Malcolm Speed.
"Graeme Smith and Shaun Pollock have been given an enviable number of options to cover all match circumstances. Personally, I can't wait for the series to begin."
The Super Series starts with the three one-day matches at Melbourne's Telstra Dome on 5, 7 and 9 October. The six-day Test will begin at the Sydney Cricket Ground five days later.
