Double boost for Somerset
Saturday Apr 26 2008 10:56
Somerset have won clearance to complete the signing s of South African duo Zander de Bruyn and Alfonso Thomas.
All-rounder de Bruyn could yet face his former side Worcestershire this weekend, while fast bowler Thomas will arrive in Taunton next week.
Somerset's director of cricket, Brian Rose, said: "It's great news that both players are now clear to join us.
"There was a slight technical hitch with Alfonso which has now been sorted out and I hope to watch Zander having a net at Taunton in the morning."
De Bruyn had earlier told the BBC: "It's important to play in the first division, playing against the best cricketers in England.
"That's where you want to test your skills and see where you can go."
