Derbys swoop for Langeveldt
Derbyshire have signed South Africa fast bowler Charl Langeveldt as a Kolpak player on a two-year contract.
The 33-year-old has played in six Test matches and 59 one-day internationals for the Proteas, but has decided to head back to England again, having previously played county cricket for Somerset and Leicestershire.
Derbys head of cricket John Morris told the Evening Telegraph: "Charl is an excellent addition to our squad and brings real quality. He has proven ability at the highest level of the game.
"I think it's a great signing for us. To have someone of such quality leading the attack will be brilliant for us.
"Charl is the right player for us - just finished in international cricket, massively experienced and I'm told he's a great lad.
"Charl is not a young man, but he's not over the hill and I'm sure he'll be able to lead our attack for at least a couple of years.
"He's chosen us over a number of counties because I think he quite liked what we were trying to achieve here."
