Defending champions Sri Lanka off to perfect start in Asia Cup

Defending champions Sri Lanka got their 2016 Asia Cup campaign off to the perfect start, beating the United Arab Emirates by 14 runs on Thursday.

Openers Dinesh Chandimal (50) and Tillakaratne Dilshan (27) starred as Sri Lanka reached 129 for eight in 20 overs.

Swapnil Patil's 37 inspired the UAE as they recovered from 16 for four after 3.5 overs to reach 115 for nine at the end of their innings, with Sri Lanka bowler Lasith Malinga taking four wickets.
