Coach to leave Black Caps

New Zealand head coach John Bracewell has confirmed he will step down when his contract expires next April.

Bracewell, 50, has been with the Black Caps since 2003, but the former Gloucestershire coach is keen to return to county cricket in England.

"The preference is for a coach who can take this group of players and win lots of games," said New Zealand Cricket chief executive Justin Vaughan on the search for a replacement.

"Whether that's a New Zealander or an international coach, they will just have to be decided on their merits."
