Blackwell's a big hitter
Somerset skipper Ian Blackwell was delighted to have ended the campaign with the fastest first-class century of the season.
Blackwell blasted his hundred off just 67 balls in the innings defeat by Derbyshire, to earn the Walter Lawrence Trophy that was won by team-mate Richard Johnson last season.
"When I went out to bat I just played my normal positive game and didn't have a thought about going for the fastest hundred," he told the County's official website.
"However they had four slips and no sweepers so runs started to come easily.
"When they announced that I had got to my first 50 in just 36 balls, Graeme Welch from their side, who I always enjoy some good banter with, started to say that I could get the fastest century if I went for it.
"So I did and I got it off 67 balls.
"Of course I am delighted to win the Walter Lawrence Trophy for the fastest century of the season and follow in the footsteps of Richard Johnson who won it last year."
