Leicestershire have expressed their interest in signing the former England and Yorkshire star Matthew Hoggard.
The 32-year-old is in limbo after being told on Monday that he would not be offered a new contract by the White Rose county.
Leicestershire are one of several counties interested in securing the bowler's services, with chief executive David Smith saying: "Our head coach Tim Boon will talk with Matthew.
"The two know each other very well from their England days when Tim worked with Duncan Fletcher for four years."
Hoggard had said on Monday: "I'm looking for a job. I'm still fit, I didn't miss any games last year through injury.
"I'm the leading wicket-taker, I've got a lot to offer and my experience is second to none in the County Championship."
