Ireland coach Phil Simmons has signed a new extended contract to remain in charge until the end of 2011.
The 46-year-old former West Indies batsman took charge of the side following the 2007 World Cup and has enjoyed a fine start to his reign.
Simmons said: "I'm happy to commit myself to Irish cricket.
"I've really enjoyed my time with Ireland and believe that there are more trophies and further success to come. I'm ambitious and so are the players.
"We have got a lot of important fixtures coming up and I'm confident we'll continue to impress on the world stage."
