Glamorgan all-rounder Alex Wharf has been forced into retirement due to persistent knee problems.
Wharf, 34, scored over 5,000 runs and took more than 500 wickets during a lengthy first-class career which also brought England honours.
The former Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire all-rounder won 13 one-day caps after making his debut against India in 2004.
"My ongoing knee problem has led me to make this tough decision," Wharf told Glamorgan's official website.
"It's hard to retire from a sport that you love and has been your life for such a long period.
"I'm hugely grateful to all at Glamorgan who've been so supportive during my time at the club and wish them success in the future.
"I'll always look back on my cricketing career with fond memories."
