Australia have named Michael Clarke as their new Twenty20 captain.
The 28-year-old batsmen replaced Ricky Ponting at the helm during Australia's recent limited-overs games against England when the regular skipper was given time off to recuperate after a busy summer.
Ponting resumed the one-day captaincy on his return and led the Baggy Greens to victory in the recent ICC Champions Trophy.
However, Clarke - who is widely regarded as being Ponting's long-term successor - will now lead the side in future Twenty20 games.
"We have developed a strong working relationship and he has always led the team well in my absence," explained Ponting.
"I am sure he will do a very good job with the Twenty20 team."
Meanwhile, All-rounder Cameron White has been named as Clarke's vice-captain.
"We must recognise that we have got a lot of work to do in Twenty20 cricket and our recent form hasn't been good," added Clarke.
